Amy Laura Bargiel was born Amy Laura Bargiel on 12 September 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Charles and Libby Kral Bargiel. She had a brother, Tom Bargiel, and a sister, Lisa Bargiel who outlived her. Her only child was Haley Arnaz, a product of her first marriage to Fredrick Charf.
Amy was closely affiliated with spirituality. Her spiritual influence came from the writings of Vernon Howard. To build on her faith, she became a member of the New Life Foundation.
She was married twice and was still married to her second spouse at the time of her death in 2015. Amy had one daughter, Haley with her first husband.

In January of 2013, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. From that period onward, she battled the disease till she lost the battle on 23 January 2015. She was 63 at the time of her death.
