Wendy Cobain was the wife of Donald Leland Cobain, an automotive mechanic. They were in a relationship for some time before getting married on July 31, 1965, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They had Kurt Donald Cobain on February 20, 1967.

Eventually, Wendy Cobain granted Donald full custody of Kurt Cobain, on June 28, 1979, but when Kurt was in his second year in high school, he was living with his mother in Aberdeen. He dropped out of Aberdeen High School just when he was about to graduate and his mother gave him a choice to either find a job or leave.
