Blueprints can be earned at the end of matches. Unlike the crate that the blueprints replace, each blueprint will depict a specific item of the set that can be built for credits. Unrevealed blueprints can be reveals for no cost, and then you can choose to make the item shown. If not, you trade revealed blueprints to other players.
The higher the rarity, the more the item will cost to make. Rare items cost 50 credits, Very Rare costs 100, Import costs 400, Exotic costs 700 and Black Market items cost 2,000 credits.
