The Warrior class is the faster, more agile counterpart to the Vagabond, offering Elden Ring players an early boost to their Dexterity. It's fairly simple to build, but as with any Elden Ring class, there is some nuance to observe. Here's what you need to know about building the Warrior, including stats, weapons, and armor.
Warrior Elden Ring Stats Guide
The Warrior starts starts with a huge boost to Dexterity, a smaller one to Mind, and slight bumps to Endurance and Vigor. This makes it offensively formidable in the early game, but slightly less durable than the Vagabond, for example. If you're looking to play a faster, light armor-wearing class, it will serve you well — though any class can take you to any stat destination with a bit of work.
Your two most important stats will be Vigor and Dexterity. Vigor is always an essential Elden Ring stat, but it's especially valuable for players who are wearing lighter armor. You'll rely on your dodging to survive most fights, but you'll want the extra HP from high vigor when you do, inevitably, get hit. Dexterity, on the other hand, will determine how much damage you deal with most of the fast, light and technical weapons in the game. Endurance can be a tertiary priority, allowing you to wear at least some armor; a minimal investment in Strength may also allow you to wield certain weapons.
Stats in Elden Ring provide diminishing returns when they reach their highest levels. An ideal Warrior build aiming for maximal combat efficacy would look something like this:
- Vigor: 40
- Dexterity: 50 (34 if two-handing)
- Mind: 12
- Intelligence: 10
- Endurance: 25
- Strength: 10 (or higher based on weapon requirements)
- Faith: 8
- Arcane: 9
You can throw stats into Arcane if you want improved item discovery, or Mind if you want to be able to use your Combat Arts more often. Faith and Intelligence will help you cast more powerful spells, but you likely won't need to worry about that.
Warrior Elden Ring Weapons Guide
In Elden Ring, any weapon can carry you through to the end of the game. But if you're looking for an excellent early option for a Dexterity weapon, look no further than the Uchigatana. This long katana has great range, a swift attack, great scaling, a Weapon Art that pummels enemy poise, and the ability to inflict Bleed.
To get it, head to the Deathtouched Catacombs in West Limgrave. You'll find them set into the cliffs east and just north of the Warmaster's Shack. Proceed through the dungeon until you're attacked by two skeleton archers firing down on you from above. Make your way up there and you'll find the Uchigatana waiting to be wielded, one- or two-handed.
