Travis Roy was born on April 17, 1975 in Maine. After a successful collegiate ice hockey career, he suffered a tragic accident that left him quadriplegic. In response, he co-wrote an autobiography titled Eleven Seconds and established The Travis Roy Foundation to fund medical research and to provide support to other survivors of spinal cord injuries.
