Watering The Frangipani Tree
Only water when the soil becomes dry. Plumeria does not like its roots in soggy conditions. When summer rains arrive, and during the active growing season, you do not need to think about watering.
Do frangipanis need much water?
Frangipani only requires very little water in winter, but needs more regular watering in spring and summer, especially if it's hot. That is the most essential need for it to bear flowers. If you can't water, the tree will survive even long droughts, but it might not bloom as much.
Do frangipanis need full sun?
Frangipanis thrive in well-drained soil, plenty of sun and frost-free conditions. They love growing by the beach in sandy soils and are one of the best trees for tolerating salty air along the coast.
