Tachycardia heartbeat
In tachycardia, an abnormal electrical impulse starting in the upper or lower chambers of the heart causes the heart to beat faster. Tachycardia is the medical term for a heart rate over 100 beats per minute.
What to do if heart beat increases suddenly?
Call your doctor or 911 right away if you have a fast or irregular heartbeat and you also have:
- chest pain.
- fainting.
- dizziness.
- shortness of breath.
When heart beat decrease the condition is called?
Bradycardia is a slower than normal heart rate. The hearts of adults at rest usually beat between 60 and 100 times a minute. If you have bradycardia (brad-e-KAHR-dee-uh), your heart beats fewer than 60 times a minute. Bradycardia can be a serious problem if the heart doesn't pump enough oxygen-rich blood to the body.
