How long do AeroGarden pods last?
We guarantee germination for 1 year from the date of purchase of the seed pod kit. However, typically the seeds remain viable for 2 years if stored properly.

Can I reuse a sponge? If the sponge hasn’t been used you can remove the seeds and replace them with your own seeds. However, if you’ve already used the seed pod sponge to grow a plant, you should keep the plastic basket and throw out the sponge.

While we source and package many different pre-seeded pods, Grow Anything kits allow you to insert any seeds you’d like to grow into an AeroGarden pod for your garden! Simply buy or save your favorite seeds and insert them into the grow sponges from our Grow Anything kit to grow the garden you’ve always wanted!
How often should you change water in AeroGarden?
Once a month when the nutrient light comes on, use our specially sized siphon to quickly drain all the nutrient solution in the AeroGarden into the sink or a bucket ( see picture to the right). Add nutrients and water as usual then press the reset button. That’s it! Nutrients perfectly balanced!
Can you transfer AeroGarden plants to soil?
If the weather still isn’t consistently warm and fair by this time in your seedlings’ life, you can transfer them to soil in pots and keep them inside until the weather cooperates. This allows you to get them out of the AeroGarden tray before they become too entangled with their roots.
Do you have to transplant AeroGarden plants?
Aerogarden plants and herbs must get used to their new environment gradually once they are replanted into pots, so don’t plant them directly into the ground outdoors. To get started, you will need a 3- to 4-inch pot; increase this size if the plant is larger.
