Can you paint feather finish?
Yes. You should sand before applying each coat. A light sanding should do if you applied it smoothly. The final coat when dry should be sanded as smooth as possible before putting on color or sealant.
How do you use a feather finish?
After mixing, apply the ARDEX FEATHER FINISH to the substrate with the flat side of a steel trowel to obtain a solid mechanical bond before applying the desired thickness. Apply sufficient pressure to fill all defects and to feather the product onto the subfloor surface.

Can you walk on ARDEX FEATHER FINISH?
As soon as the ARDEX FEATHER FINISH can be walked on without damaging the surface (approx 15 minutes), floorcoverings such as vinyl, carpet and ceramic tile can be installed.

How thick can you apply ARDEX FEATHER FINISH?
ARDEX FEATHER FINISH can be easily applied with a steel trowel, and used at a true feather edge, or up to 3mm in thickness. For thicknesses of 3mm, and not exceeding 12mm, it is recommended to build up in thin applications or alternatively consult the ARDEX ARDURAPID A 45 datasheet.
How long does Henry feather finish take to dry?
I ended up using a 3 inch putty knife as my main tool with the flat end of an 8 inch trowel to smooth it out. This stuff sets up fast however. 10-15 minutes working time before it starts to get really hard in the bucket.
Is Henry feather finish the same as ardex?
The Henry Feather Finish is the same stuff as is in this Ardex bag. They are made by the exact same company -just different packaging.

How do you use Henry 549?
The recommended mixing ratio is two parts by volume of powder to one part water. For an entire bag, mix 1.75 quarts of water with the 7 lbs. of powder. Pour the water in the container first and then add powder while mixing by hand or drill to a lump- free consistency.
