It sounds like your corn is rotting and molding, instead of fermenting. As for deer eating it, they are likely to pass if other sources are available. True sour corn will definately be eaten by hogs.
Is rotten corn bad for deer?
"Don't put aflatoxin corn out for the deer even though it probably won't kill them, because it can kill smaller animals that get into it," Stewart said. Depending on the level of aflatoxin and how much is eaten, large mammals such as white-tailed deer can experience weight loss, anemia and reproductive problems.
Will deer eat sour corn?
They will eat it as others have noted. Soured corn can be used as an attractant for hogs, deer, raccoons, opossums, rats, ants, and even some birds.
