Although the ice maker is easily removed, you can clear out clogs in the ice chute by breaking up or melting the clog. Once cleared, the appliance's ice maker replenishes the storage bin and creates up to 130 cubes within 24 hours.

Clear ice clogs from your GE ice maker without damaging the dispenser.

Step 1

Hold down "Lock Controls" on the control panel, located on the front left exterior of the appliance, for three seconds to disable the ice maker's dispenser. Push "On/Off" to turn off the ice and water dispenser.

Step 2

Open the freezer door and push "Off" on the power switch located on the front of the ice maker. Close the appliance's door once the ice maker is powered off.
