Hopsin: Early life
The American rapper Marcus Hopson was born on the 18th of July, 1985 in Los Angeles, United States.
He grew up in Los Angeles where he attended the James Monroe High School and was placed in special education classes in his high school days.
Hopsin had great for skateboarding since the age of twelve and can be seen in several of his music videos performing stunts with a skateboard.
At the age of 16, Hopsin took great interest in music as he started his venture as a rap star, and by 2003, he recorded a few rap single which was later used as tracks in his self-produced album titled “Emurge”.
Hopsin was later arrested in 2014 along with some of his friends after being caught vandalizing properties of James Monroe High School.
Though it was as a result of playing a school prank, the suspects were charged and placed on bail of about $20,000.
Hopsin however, after dropping out some months earlier was sentenced and jailed for one year in the Los Angeles County Jail.
After spending a year in prison, Hopsin was freed and immediately he dedicated most of his time to pursuing a career as a rapper.
In his venture, he bought a microphone, and on his computer, he installed the FruityLoops studio which got him singing and producing music.

Hopsin’s official career in music started in 2003 when he locally recorded a mixtape which he titled ‘Emurge’.
Though having a setback in his career after being arrested in 2014, Hopsin emerged and added more effort in his rap career which later got him signed into the label “Ruthless Records” later in 2007.
Two years later after having released several singles under the label, Hopsin released his first official studio debut album titled ‘Gazing at the Moonlight.’
The album was a success and thereafter, just some Month later, he released another album titled ‘Raw’.
In November of 2013, Hopsin released his third, and just like his previous it a huge success but this time, it amassed number 1 on the US Heat charts.
Soaring higher in his career, Hopsin released yet another album in July 2015 which he titled “Pound Syndrome” and in November 2017 he released another titled “No Shame”
