Joy-Ann M.Lomena-Reid is an American cable television host. She is also an MSNBC national correspondent, liberal political commentator and author. She was born on December 8, 1968. In 2018 she hosted the national MSNBC morning talk show, conducted weekly by the channel.
Once in the New York Times magazine, it was written, “Ms Reid, the daughter of immigrants, has emerged as a heroine of the Anti-Trump resistance”. She is also an author, and she has published many books. In 2019 she published a book, ‘The Man Who Sold America’: Trump and the Unravelling of the American Story. Later the national MSNBC announced that Reid would host The Reid out talk show.

Joy Reids Early Life
Joy Reid was born in Brooklyn, new york city. Her father was from the democratic republic of the Congo. Joy’s mother was a college professor and nutritionist from Guyana. Her parents met each other in graduate school at the University of Lowa. So, Reid was raised and brought up as a methodist. She has one sister and one brother.
Joy never experienced her father’s presence as he was often absent. He was an engineer. Her mother passed away when she was 17 due to breast cancer. Joy graduated from Harvard University in 1991. Her graduation was a concentration in film studies. In an interview, Joy states that her college life was very different from what she experienced where she lived.
She meant to say eighty per cent was African American, and she lived among six per cent of African American. Joy paid her bills and tuition on her own while at Harvard University. The college life was pretty good for her. In 1997 she married Jason Reid, and her husband later became a documentary film editor.
