Crystal McCrary Anthony, Cole Anthony’s mother, has been on TV and has been a guest host on an episode of The View.
She also gave advice about the law on Court TV, CNBC, and Fox News Channel. McCrary has worked on several projects for the BET J network and has been a guest on CNN’s American Morning.
The 53-year-old was chosen as one of Crain’s New York Business’s 40 under 40 in 2007. He is also a well-known author and lawyer.

Cole’s mother, Crystal McCrary, got a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan in 1991. After she graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., in 1995, she moved to New York City to attend the New York University School of Law.
She also studied law in Paris and at Tulane, focusing on the law of the European Community.
McCrary started out as an associate at the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York. She worked as a lawyer for the entertainment industry. She helped writers, playwrights, and directors negotiate contracts.

In 1997, she quit her job as a lawyer so she could focus on writing
Crystal and Patrick Ewing’s wife wrote a book together.
McCrary and Rita Ewing, who at the time was married to Patrick Ewing of the New York Knicks, worked together on Homecourt Advantage, a racy book about the wives and girlfriends of the fictional “New York Flyers” basketball team. The book was put out in 1998.
Kevin Merida, a critic for the Washington Post, said that the book has “336 pages of desire and mistrust, rumors and innuendo, the trappings of money, and the seductions of power.”
Love and heartache are shown in strong ways. Like friendship and also being betrayed.
That’s because basketball is just a part of the story, which is about how millionaire athletes and their significant others have problems outside of the game.
McCrary wrote the 2004 book Gotham Diaries with Spike Lee’s wife, Tonya Lewis Lee. For that book, she won the Blackboard Fiction Book of the Year award.
