Carly Twarog “CT” Obituary, Death – Today, we come together in the wake of the tragic death of Carly Twarog. Carly, or (CT) as she was lovingly referred as, shone brightly in this world and left an unforgettable impression on those lucky enough to call her friend. Carly was the epitome of competitive spirit, exemplifying the qualities of toughness, devotion, and perseverance at every turn.
Her firm will and determination were matched by the uncommon humility, generosity, and tenderness she showed to everyone she met. Carly’s genuine excellence, beyond her physical abilities, rested in the strength of her character. During Carly’s stay at Girard, I had the privilege of serving as her coach. I learned early on in those years that the actual gift was to myself.
Carly and her coworkers taught me a lot about hard work, cooperation, and never giving up on your goals. Together, they made a lasting impact on our school’s legacy by accomplishing several firsts, including Girard’s first-ever appearance at the state level. Carly’s senior year, the “Giant Killers” showed incredible resilience and determination by finishing in third place despite facing formidable 4A opponents.
Carly’s insatiable ambition saw her through college and helped her achieve her athletic and academic goals after she graduated from high school. She gave selflessly of her time to participate in alumni games, establishing an enduring legacy in our program and influencing future generations. It’s safe to assume that Carly’s passing was attended by her loving husband and family.
We can just picture her today, full of life and confidence, making game-winning jump shots and sprinting across the finish line with ease. There will never be another Carly, but those who were lucky enough to have been illuminated by her will never forget her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Skylar Carnes, Mary Twarog, Dave, and the rest of the family during this difficult time. As much as we miss him here on Earth, we can take comfort in the fact that Heaven has received a really exceptional individual.
