The 29 year-old Franco Masini is one of the youngest celebrated talents from Argentina. His versatility in entertainment cuts across film, theater, and music. As an actor, he gained global recognition following his role in Netflix’s remake of Rebelde (2022) and the British series Riviera (2017). While as an artist, he has released a couple of songs and an EP in 2020.

He fell in love with acting and music when he was quite young, incorporating these into a career years later was what he didn’t know at the beginning. Even though he is passionate about the two, acting seems to be on the front burner.

Since the Argentinian actor and singer started acting in 2011, he has mostly been featured in local Argentine TV series and movies. Some of them include; Peter Punk (2011-2013), Violetta (2012), Betibu (2014) El Mall Menor (2015) and Solo el Amor (2018).

In 2020, he joined Sky Atlantic’s British TV series Rivier at the age of 26. The series began to air in June 2017, but he appeared in season 3 as Cesar Alsin-Saurez, which started to air in October 2020.

Filming the series alongside some well-known American and English actors like Julia Stiles, Rupert Graves, and Poppy Delevigne was a memorable experience for him. However, he had a challenge with the English language since his first language is Spanish, and being Argentinian made it herculean.  Regardless, he accepted the challenge and gave his best.

The series was mainly filmed in Saint Tropez, Venice, Italy.

As 2021 was exciting for him, 2022 had more surprises in the bag. The best so far for him was playing the role of Luka Colucci in the 2022 Netflix remake of the famous Argentine TV series Rebelde. In addition, it is a sequel to the 2004 Mexican TV series of the same title.

The 29 year-old actor and singer said he is delighted to be part of the series. It reminds him of how he was always glued to the TV watching it while he was a boy, and years later, he finds himself playing an Argentinian role in it is epic.

Rebelde was filmed in Mexico and started premiering in January 2022. As of July 2022, the series is in its second season.

1. He Was Born In The Argentine Capital City of Buenos Aires

Franco Masini was born 22nd May 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is currently 29 years old. Talking about his family, he comes from a family that supports and dreams and aspirations. This is why he s gradually writing his name as of the most talented actors of Argentinian descent.

As regards his education, he studied theater at Timbre 4 Academy.

2. The Theater Helped Him Discover His Acting Passion

Masini developed a passion for acting at a younger age. This discovery was made possible by his involvement with the theater at the age of 12. He started by doing a Shakespeare show, but at the time it was challenging for him because he was featuring alongside well-experienced actors with years of exposure.

Some of the theater plays he loves doing back then were Next to Normal, and The Clockwork Orange. It was here that he became really interested in acting.

3. He Was Discovered At 14

While the Riviera actor was still doing his thing at the theater, it was discovered that he had the talent to be in a series, and hence the opportunity to become an actor presented itself. Therefore, he started acting for Disney at the age of 14. Some of his Disney credits include; Peter Punk (2011-2013) and Violetta (2012).

He continued to gain more experience in acting as he works and attends school at the same.

4. His Next Passion Is Music After Acting

While Acting is the main he is fully focused on at the moment, he is also musically inclined. He started playing music, especially the sax and guitar when he was about 13 or 14. As he does these things, he started singing and eventually began to write songs.

Although his movie projects seem to occupy his time, he does music whenever he has the time. The perfect opportunity to do this came in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown. During that time, he was able to write 10 songs and even went on to release a 5-track EP “Naufrago.” The tracks are,

5. What Are His Hobbies?

Whenever the Argentinian actor is not free from film schedules or away from the studio, he loves going to the cinema to see movies, visiting the theater, traveling to other places, and exploring food.

With the way Franco Masini is going, he may become one of Argentina’s biggest talents to Europe and America as regards acting and music in the coming years. Since he has been able to handle the roles given to him now, he is likely going to land major roles as the years go by.
