Davis Thompson is an American golfer who competes on the PGA Tour. He now ranks world no. 59 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

The player turned professional in 2021 and then joined the Korn Ferry Tour. He held a two-stroke lead after the first round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic in his third PGA TOUR event as a professional.

Thompson earned his card for the 2022–23 PGA Tour after finishing the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour season 16th on the points list. Moreover, he won at the Rex Hospital Open on his 23rd birthday on 5 June 2022.

Thompson played collegiate golf at the University of Georgia from 2017 to 2021. There, he won four individual titles and was named the 2021 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.

As an amateur, he won the 2020 Jones Cup Invitational and was the stroke-play medalist at the 2019 Western Amateur.

Davis was born to parents Todd Thompson and Leigh Thompson on 5 June 1999. He hails from Auburn, Alabama, United States.

The player has a golf family background as his father was a also golf player. Todd played collegiate golf at Georgia from 1984 to 88 and now serves as the  Tournament Director for the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic.
