Diana Lorena Taurasi was born on June 11, 1982, in Glendale, California, United States. She is the daughter of Mario Taurasi and Liliana Taurasi. Her father was a professional soccer player in Italy, who was born in Italy and raised in Argentina. She has an older sister named Jessika Taurasi.
Taurasi attended Don Antonio Lugo High School in Chino, California, where she played basketball. She then played for the women’s basketball team at the University of Connecticut.
