Outpost Rush is a large-scale endgame PVP event in New World. This guide covers everything you need to know about how the mode works.
Outpost Rush
Level 60 players can participate in Outpost Rush, a large-scale 20 v 20 PvP (with some PvE thrown in) event in New World. Depending on the queue, the game will occasionally switch to a 16 v 16 format. Outpost Rush strikes a balance between resource management, objective control, and fortifications to withstand enemy assaults.
You can play this mode by yourself or with up to five other people. After queuing at an Outpost Rush NPC in a settlement, you’ll be teleported to a different island called Nauthynos, where the event will begin. One of the most important aspects of New World’s endgame content is this mode.
How Does Outpost Rush Work?
At level 60, you can only play one round of Outpost Rush. Simply go to a settlement and talk to the Outpost Rush NPC. The mode will begin when the queue is full.
- Each team begins at their home forts.
- Between the two forts, there are three Outposts that can be captured by either team: Luna, Sol, and Astra.
- There is a full-on rush as both teams try and capture these Outposts.
- Holding on to an Outpost will reward points, and killing other players rewards points as well. Whichever team hits 1,000 points first, wins.
- Rewards for the event come in the form of Outpost Rush cosmetics, and rare items, and armor.
Because combat can get tense around the various Outposts, it’s a good idea to bring a decent PvP build with you. Here are some of our personal favorites from the closed beta (we will update with more with the full release.)
