Lebron James Net Worth

As of June 2022, Forbes estimates that NBA superstar LeBron James has become the first active NBA player to officially join the billionaires’ list.  He joins people such as golf professional Tiger Woods and other billion-dollar athletes.  For the record, former NBA star, Michael Jordan did not become a billionaire until ten years after his retirement.  LeBron James not only has basketball to his credit but product endorsements and other business ventures as well.  LeBron James’ net worth has reached $1 billion.  That is certain to increase in the near future as he commands higher career earnings.

The Early Days of LeBron James

A native of the United States, LeBron Raymone James Sr. was born in Akron, Ohio on December 30, 1984.  His mother, Gloria Marie James was an amazing woman who did her best for him.  With Gloria’s blessing and her thoughts that LeBron would benefit from a stable family life, the young man was permitted to move in with Mr. Frank Walker.  It proved to be the best life as well as a turning point for young LeBron as Mr. Walker introduced him to basketball at nine years of age.  In his later youth, LeBron tried his hand at football.  He showed promise at that and was recruited by organizations like Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish.  Despite some success at football, LeBron James always felt his first love was basketball.  This proved to be a wise move on his part as he ultimately became known as King James and earned a nice NBA salary plus multiple endorsement deals.   The young Mr. James thought he would benefit from his God-given ability for basketball.   He was certainly correct.

What Is LeBron James’ Net Worth?

As recently as June 2022, his net worth was closer to $1.2 billion before taxes.  On the court of three NBA superstar teams, it is reported that LeBron James earns over $385 million.  Those teams were the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and most recently the Los Angeles Lakers.  Then came the endorsement deals and additional business ventures to the tune of $900 million.  Virtually everyone wants LeBron James’ presence for their companies.  Excellent stuff!  Some of these deals were with PepsiCo, Nike, and even Walmart.  Whatever this man does turns to pure gold at his hands.  Mr. James is the consummate businessman.  LeBron’s savvy business prowess has led to lucrative deals as opposed to a quick paycheck.  He took a gamble on the Blaze Pizza chain and invested in that.  On top of that, he has taken equity in the ride-share kings, Lyft.  Then there is the endorsement deal with McDonald’s.  This genius of the basketball court and the business world has really made a name for himself.  It is also prudent to mention his deal with business partner Maverick Carter in SpringHill Entertainment.  This company is responsible for producing television shows and movies.  Although he did do some endorsement work with McDonald’s, he turned down a large contract extension for a better opportunity with Blaze Pizza.   It was reported that in one year alone LeBron James earned about $1 million.
