Toddler Vomits When Crying

Toddler Vomits When Crying

Is it normal for toddlers to throw up when upset?

Surprisingly, this is a common occurrence in younger children. Some toddlers vomit when having a tantrum or just crying. Others vomit when they have too much food in their mouth. And some vomit for no known reason at all.

Can crying make a toddler throw up?

A prolonged bout of crying can trigger the gag reflex and make your child vomit. Although it’s troubling for both of you, throwing up during a crying spell won’t physically harm your child. If they appear otherwise healthy, there’s no reason to be concerned.
