Where is Vikings supposed to be set?
It follows the adventures of Ragnar Lodbrok, a legendary 9th century Viking, and later his family and is based equally on fact and fiction. The majority of the show is set in England, Denmark, and other parts of Northern Europe, though there are also scenes set around the Mediterranean.
Is Kattegat based on a real place?
The fact — Kattegat in Norway does not exist. It seems that it never existed. In fact, this is a strait between Denmark and Sweden, which connects from one side of the North Sea and the other to the Baltic Sea. It is a sea area of about 220km.
