Re the 1970s 'baby groupies' and even the older groupies who came before them, most of these women have no regrets about fucking those older rockers.
Most of those guys were in their late 20s to mid 30s and they were fucking underage teens. These women now speak of all those men in glowing terms. It's clear, most of these groupies were delusional, most had this fantasy that these famous rockers would sweep them back to their mansions in England! Jimmy Page had a longterm GF (an actual working fashion model) and a young daughter back in England, but women like Catherine James and Pamela Des Barres actually thought they had real relationships with him.
These women were nothing more than unpaid escorts. Not sure how most of these groupies supported themselves. The 'baby groupies' apparently still lived with their parents, the women in their 20s, who knows. Since they were being flown around the US by these rockers, there was no way any of them could hold down any sort of normal job. Bebe Buell screwed up her own modeling career, when she chose to be a groupie over her modeling career.
Another interesting fact, most of these groupies came from totally dysfunctional backgrounds. Catherine James who was actually quite beautiful and became an actual fashion model, came from a bizarre background. Her mother put her in an orphanage because Catherine seemed to get in the way of her mother always fucking different men. Catherine's father, who was composer Randy Newman's cousin, died when she was young. Due to the Newman connection, her mother was also floating around the California showbiz scene. Her mother was also a model.
Both the late Sable Starr and Lori Mattix came from upper middle class backgrounds, both had indifferent parents who seemed more than happy knowing their children were fucking famous men. Their parents bankrolled their lifestyles. In fact, Lori's mom drove her to the Hyatt House to meet up with these men.
Lori's mom spoke to Jimmy Page, she assured him it was OK to 'date' her underage daughter. Page, at 30, sure knew what he was doing was wrong and that he could have served jail time. Because of that, Lori was never seen with him other than in photos where they posed at parties. They never left a hotel together, were never shown on a plane together etc. Lori was hidden from view. Lori was always escorted by someone else in his entourage, such as one of Page's female publicists.
Years later, Lori admitted they had little to talk about. You think? Also, years later, when Page reconnected with Lori, he told her, "We were babies back then." Lori said, 'Well, one of us was!" Seems Lori has sure changed her tune, she now says it's not a good idea for young teen females to fuck much older men.
Here's a photo of the beautiful Catherine James, she kind of resembled Sharon Tate. Catherine had a son with former Moody Blues singer Denny Laine, who later went on to join Paul McCartney's band Wings. When they lived in London, Denny beat Catherine, she then finally left him.
Some of these rockers and actors are simply not very nice people, they prey on people who are naive and easy to manipulate. And not only young women, same with young men and even their employees and friends.
These performers get fame and fortune at very young ages, they are used to so many people kissing their asses, these performers start to believe their own press. Their delusion definitely extends into their personal relationships.
