Students probably think they're big shots now that they're in middle school. Well, they're right. They are big shots. But being a big shot means they'll have to tackle some big shot math concepts.
The Grade 6 math standards are a little different from what students have dealt with up until this point. Okay, a lot different. We're introducing ratios and proportions, negative numbers, equations and variables, nets and surface area, and statistical thinking. And it's up to us to make sure students are up for the challenge. (Who's the big shot now?)
