In August 2006, medical examinations revealed that Jon Lester was suffering from lymphoma. Following the diagnosis, he took a break from his major league career and went on a rehab assignment with Greenville Drive in 2007. The Greenville Drive is a minor league baseball team, that is also the High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
It was during that rehab assignment that he met his wife Farrah Stone Johnson. Lester was single when he met Farrah. According to Fabwags.com, At the time when Farrah met Jon, she was a nursing student in her hometown, South Carolina.
