For over 50 years, the City of Kennesaw has proudly hosted its annual Salute to America celebration, a pre-Independence Day event. Stop by the “Salute to the Red, White and Blue” Hometown Celebration in Downtown East Point, the oldest Independence Day celebration in South Fulton County. The family-friendly event begins at 4 p.m. and will take place across from the East Point MARTA station and East Point City Hall. The celebration includes fun activities for the family as well as a merchandise vendor market, live music throughout the evening and a food court serving Italian ice, funnel cakes, smoked and grilled meats, fried fish, beer and more. Stick around until 9:30 p.m. to catch the Pyro Digital Fireworks display, which is synchronized to music. Attendees can bring blankets and chairs to the event, but no outside food, grills or beverages are allowed.
