The former Post office building on St Nicholas' Street in Newcastle was built 1871-1874 by James Williams.[1] Originally there were separate entrance for male and female staff.[2] The Post Office closed in the late 1990s when Royal Mail restructured. It is now used as offices of the NBS division of the Royal Institute of British Architects, who renovated the building. The building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
