Goranson met her future husband, Pete Carroll at her college, . They fell in love and married on May 21, 1976, when she was only 21 years old. 

Glena and Pete have completed their family with three children. They have two sons, Brennan Carroll, 39, and Nate Carroll, 31, and a 36-year-old daughter Jaime Carroll, as of 2022.

Glena also has a grandchild, Dillon Brennan Carroll, through Brennan and his wife.
