Early Life, Family & Education

Debra Monk was born on February 27, 1949, in Middletown, Ohio, the United States of America. Names of the Redwood Curtain star's father and mother are not available.

The actress hasn't revealed if she has a sibling or she is the only child of her parents. She is of American nationality and belongs to white ethnicity.

As for her education, Debra has studied at Wheaton High School in Silver Spring Maryland. She was voted as the "Best Personality" while in her high school.

She did her graduation from the Frostburg State University in 1973, and later she studied Master of Fine Arts in the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Career

Debra Monk used to work as a waitress before starting her career. She made her acting debut with a theatrical play,, in 1982. She was one of the writers of the play.

She has also performed in Steppenwolf Theater Company's production of Visiting Edna (2016).

Debra made her film debut in 1992 by playing the role of Aunt Dorothy in the drama romance movie, , alongside Alec Baldwin, Meg Ryan, Patty Duke, Kathy Bates and Ned Beatty.
