Trey Wingo grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, and attended Baylor University, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He completed his graduation with a bachelor's degree in communications from Baylor University in 1985. Wingo first began his career at NBC's "News at Sunrise" in New York City. After giving a great performance at NBC, he was offered by various televisions thus Wingo had also worked for WMGC-TV, KSDK-TV, WICZ-TV, and WFMZ-TV as a sports director.
