The PlayStation 2 is the best selling video game console of all time and sold over 155 million units worldwide. Over 3,800 PlayStation 2 games were released and sold over 1.5 billion copies. The console was produced for almost 9 years and sold officially until Jan. 4, 2013.
Many gamers consider the Playstation 2 one of the best consoles of all time. The Playstation 2 offered games in a variety of genres. Some of the most popular Playstation 2 series were the Kingdom Hearts series, the Jak and Daxter series, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, and God of War 1 and 2. It battled the original Xbox, the Nintendo Gamecube, the Sega Dreamcast as it tried to remain atop the console war.
