The Nigerian social media space is currently abuzz over Far From Home. Released at the end of the year to coincide with the Yuletide season, this production has captivated the hearts of several people who have viewed it.

Far From Home is a Netflix young adult television series which began airing in 2022 and it also serves as the network’s first young adult TV program from Nigeria. The first episode of the series debuted on Netflix on December 16, 2022.
Mike Afolarin, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bimbo Akintola, Carol King, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, Genoveva Umeh, Natse Jemide and other actors appear in the five-part series. The series was written by Dami Elebe and produced by Inkblot Productions in collaboration with Netflix.
Far From Home plot
Ishaya Bello is a gifted but impoverished teen who is battling to follow his artistic passion. He is fortunate to find the uncommon chance to obtain a scholarship to the prestigious Wilmer Academy, but he wants to use the money for his journey to London, where he has been offered an apprenticeship with renowned artist, Essien Ishaya. He steals from the nightclub where he works as a waiter when his mother, Patricia, spends his hard-earned cash on her ailing husband, Ishaya Senior, without their son’s permission, putting an end to his goal.
He promises to sell ecstasy (hard drugs) to the Wilmer students to avoid being killed by cartel leader, Oga Rambo, but he, again, comes dangerously close to death by using the supply of Government, Rambo’s second-in-command. Ishaya’s illegal manoeuvres of posing as a student cause more upheaval at Wilmer, at home and throughout the cartel hierarchy. Following the abduction of his sister, Ishaya’s schoolmate, Frank, suffers trauma as Rambo’s group kidnaps him. When Rambo then attacks Wilmer Academy, Ishaya and his family are put through greater hardship.
