Professional Background
Erin Keith-Chancy is proud to have received her BSN from KU School of Nursing in 1997. She has practiced in perinatal, neonatal, and pediatric nursing where her areas of special interest include perinatal bereavement support, nursing ethics, front-line, clinical leadership, mentoring, and trauma-informed care. Erin received the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award for Neonatology in 2017. Erin has advanced her own knowledge through professional certification, completion of a one-year, pediatric, bioethics program, and graduation from the MSN program at the University of Saint Mary. Erin has utilized her specialization in nursing education within a transition to practice program, neonatal STABLE courses, and most recently as a clinical instructor at KU School of Nursing. Erin currently balances bedside practice and classroom teaching with her doctoral journey. She aspires to future nursing scholarship related to maternal/child health or innovative instructional design. Erin delights in the opportunities nursing provides for creativity, innovation, and growth. She hopes her enthusiasm for the profession is contagious and is determined to build her students’ confidence and curiosity.
