Professional Background

Murtaza Khan, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

The Kansas native earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Kansas and a medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Dr. Khan completed his internship and neurology residency at Indiana University/Purdue University in Indianapolis. In addition, he pursued two fellowships in neuroinfectious disease/neuroimmunology and epilepsy at the University of Colorado. Prior to returning home to Kansas City and joining the KU Medical Center faculty, he was a neurohospitalist based in the Denver area subspecializing in neuroimmunology, epilepsy and telestroke.

Dr. Khan is a current member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society.
