He recorded four other records, all released in France, and embarked on the “New York City Rap” tour, introducing American hip-hop music to France. He further collaborated with the German punk rock band Die Toten Hosen on the track “Hip Hop Bommi Bop,” considered the first co-production of punk music and hip-hop.
Freddy’s career reached new heights in 1988 when he became the first host of MTV’s popular music video show, “Yo! MTV Raps.” He remained with the network for 10 years.
