Dr. David Paul Bennett is the late father of actor Jonathan Bennett. 

He graduated as a doctor from Kirksville School of Osteopathic Medicine. 

He treated the patient for 45 years as a family practitioner and emergency medicine doctor.

His parents were Paul Samuel Bennett and Nida M. Broadwell Bennett.

He was also a passionate pilot with a private pilot certificate.

Dr. Bennett married Ruthanne Bennett of Ohio. The couple had one son together, Jonathan Bennett.

Ruthanne was a homemaker and was very close to her son Jonathan. She died on November 30, 2012, at the age of 67. 

He had four children from two women, and their names are Brian Bennett, Brent (Stephanie), Bennett, Jonathan, and Lisa (Matthew) Horner.
