Former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron spoke recently about how at peace he was over the abrupt way his time ended with his old program.
To hear him tell it, the $17 million buyout he got from the university really cushioned the blow.
“They said, ‘Coach, you’ve got $17.1 million on your contract. We’re gonna give it to you,’” Orgeron said.
“I said, ‘What time do you want me to leave and what door do you want me out of, brother?’”
This week, Orgeron proved to one and all that he did leave the Tigers on good terms by showing up to their game against Southern.
LSU got off to 37-0 lead early in the first quarter of the outing and never looked back, but that wasn’t the big storyline from the game. Rather what everyone couldn’t stop talking about was Orgeron attending with his new girlfriend:

You will recall, before his time at LSU came to an abrupt end, some pretty salacious bedroom photos of Orgeron leaked out. Between that and the female drama that seemed to accompany him, many have developed an interest in the coach’s love life.
That’s why him bringing his new girl to this week’s game was such a big deal.
Will Orgeron and his special lady friend become a permanent fixture at LSU games this year?
