Jo Dee Messina (Full name: Jo Dee Marie Messina) is an American country music singer. On the Billboard country music charts, she has charted six number-one singles. Messina has been honored by the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. Additionally, she received two Grammy Awards. Messina was the first female country musician to score three multiple-week number-one songs from the same album. Until now, she has two platinum and three gold-certified albums by the RIAA.
She started in 1996 with the single “Heads Carolina, Tails California.” The RIAA certified gold her album. Messina’s second album, I’m Alright, produced five top-10 country hits between 1998 and 1999. It also sold over a million copies in America. Since her beginning, six of her singles have peaked at number one on the Billboard country singles chart. Moreover, five of Messina’s albums have gained certification by the RIAA or the CRIA. She has sold over 5 million records worldwide.
