Her decision to pursue a career in sports journalism, however, was influenced by a family incident.
Her interest in athletics grew as she learned that one of her cousins had won two gold medals in sports and that another cousin had a professional job.
She, too, used to compete in cheering and gymnastics before becoming a journalist.
Because of her athletic experience, she became more familiar with sports and related concerns, which prompted her to pursue a career as a sports journalist.
Sherree enrolled in the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2009 to pursue a degree in journalism, with her parents’ full support, and graduated in 2012 with a degree in Strategic Communications, Journalism, and Mass Communications.
