Arnold van den Bergh Wiki / Bio

Despite having a law degree, Arnold has spent his entire life working with various legal matters. He began offering notarial services after more than ten years of active legal practice. Arnold  had been a Notary located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, at the time. He also contributed his time as a Jewish Council member during World War II.

He began managing the sale of the Jacques Godstikker art collection in 1940. Arnold had already informed Jacques Godustikker’s wife of the sale’s completion in a letter at that point.He was credited with being a founding board member of the Dutch Jewish Social Work Organization in 1946, but on June 10th, other board members unanimously decided to remove him from the board.

Betrayal of Anne Frank

According to Mr. Vince Pankoke, despite the fact that the case had been unsolved for eight decades, it was difficult to do so since it was deeply frozen.

He mentioned that Arnold Van Den might have betrayed Anne Frank and her family in order to protect his own family by giving the German authorities the list of hiding spots in Amsterdam. He did this on behalf of an anonymous letter that Otto Frank, the father of Anne Frank, received shortly after the Second World War.

According to the whole inquiry into this news, the Germans found the Anne Frank family in 1944 at the location where they had been living covertly for two years.

In the detention camps at Bergen-Belsen after that, Anne and her sister Margot perished. A copy of the personal diary kept by Anne Frank, who passed away at the age of 15, was released after the Second World War and purchased by more than 30 million individuals.
