Sean Bean was born in the English town of Handsworth in the year 1959. His father, Brian, worked as a secretary at a fabrication company where his mother, Rita, also worked. Lorraine, his younger sister, is his only sibling. Bean went to Brook Comprehensive School and afterwards worked for a supermarket and the local government. Sean then went to work for his father’s company. He went to Rotherham College of Arts and Technology once a week during this time to study welding. He returned to Rotherham and began studying acting after a brief stint at two other colleges. Sean bean got a scholarship at the elite Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after performing in college productions.

Bean made his professional acting debut in a production of “Romeo and Juliet,” as Tybalt, after graduating from RADA in 1983. He starred in “David and Jonathan” the next year. Bean was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1986 to 1988, appearing in “The Fair Maid of the West” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” performances.
