Despite living in such a cramped location where wild creatures were feared and food was scarce, Aden only had happy memories of his time there.Their lives, however, changed once they migrated to the United States. Aden was only seven years old when she entered the kingdom of dreams and saw skyscrapers touching the ground. The Somali family eventually landed in St. Cloud, Minnesota, after a series of attempts.

Halima, likewise, enrolled at Apollo High School and was even named homecoming queen. The 22-year-old is currently enrolled at St. Cloud State University.
