Gustav Elijah Ahr, better known as Lil Peep, was a well-known professional rapper, songwriter, and vocalist. In his music career, which lasted from 2014 to 2017, he released four mixtapes, six Extended Plays, and one studio album. He was noted for being a component of hip-“post-emo hop’s revival style.” His music features lyrical themes of sadness, drug addiction, former relationships, and suicide ideas, among other things. Steven J. Horowitz of the online magazine Pitchfork dubbed him “the future of emo.” Lil Peep passed away on November 15, 2017 from a drug overdose.

On the 15th of November 2017, Lil Peep was discovered dead on his tour van after his manager went to check on him in preparation for that night’s performance at a Tucson, Arizona venue. An overdose was suspected as the cause of death. The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner revealed findings from a toxicology report on December 8th, stating that the cause of death was an accidental overdose caused by the effects of the painkillers fentanyl and alprazolam. Multiple strong opiates, including Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Oxycodone, and Oxymorphone, were found in urine testing. He had no traces of alcohol in his system. In Huntington Station, New York, he was cremated.
