Anita Hill is an American lawyer and academic who rose to public prominence in 1991 after accusing US Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment when he was campaigning for a seat on the court. Thomas was her boss at the US Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, whom she publicly chastised in front of the entire globe.

Hill is also a faculty member of Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management and a university professor of social policy, law, and women’s studies.

Hill has also released her autobiography, “Speaking Truth to Power,” in which she recounts her role in the Clarence Thomas confirmation fight and how it influenced people to live in a better society. Hill earned the “Women of Achievement” award from the American Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession in 1992.

In 1993, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame. Hill confirmed on September 5, 2020 that, despite their tumultuous history extending back over three decades, she will vote for Joe Biden against Donald Trump in the 2020 election and cooperate with him on gender issues.
