Dwayne has coached in 19 NCAA tournaments while serving as a head coach. The Final Four from 2003, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2019 are among his 19 tournaments. With the help of his expertise, he was able to coach the Michigan State University team to six Big Ten Championships and four Big Ten Tournament victories.

He received recognition as a four-year letter winner at MSU while playing basketball at a young age between 1989 and 1993. Dwayne Stephens has played for his team at Michigan State University for almost 4 years, contributing to an overall record of 84-38 for the club.

He was recognized as MSU’s best defensive player from 1990 to 1991. He averaged 16.0 points per game in his two NCAA tournament contests. Between 1992 and 1993, he continued to serve as co-captain of his club, the Michigan State Spartans.
