Sunisa Lee is an American artistic gymnast and member of the United States women’s national gymnastics team. She is most recognized for being a member of the 2019 World Championships gold-winning US squad. At the same competition, she earned a silver medal on the floor exercise and a bronze on the uneven bars.

She won three medals at the 2019 USA Gymnastics National Championships in her first year as a senior elite gymnast, including a national title on the uneven bars. In 2017, she competed in the Gymnix International Junior Cup, where the United States won gold in the team event and she finished second on uneven bars.

Lee was nominated to the main Olympic team alongside Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Grace McCallum after finishing second in the US Olympic Trials in St. Louis. She achieved a 58.166 on the second day of the 2021 Olympic Gymnastics Trials, beating Simone Biles’ 57.533, making her the third gymnast to ever defeat Simone Biles in the all-around at any stage of a competition.
