Accused of killing elite cyclist captured in Costa Rica after 43 days

The US Marshals Office reports that the suspect in the shooting death of pro cyclist Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson in Texas has been apprehended in Costa Rica.
According to a news release from the Marshals Office, Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, was discovered on Wednesday at a hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas.
The organization said on Thursday that she will be deported and sent back to the US (Friday morning AEST).
In what authorities suspect may have been a violent act of romantic jealousy, Armstrong was sought for the May 11 shooting of Wilson, who had previously dated Armstrong’s lover, 35-year-old professional cyclist Colin Strickland.

Police issued a murder warrant for Armstrong on May 17. The affidavit contains information like a video showing a vehicle resembling hers close to the house Wilson was living at in Austin, Texas, just before her body was discovered.

According to the US Marshals, Armstrong flew from Newark Liberty International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica, on May 18 using a fake passport.
