Toni Brown was a pioneering musician born on November 16, 1938 in California. She was the founder and pianist of the rock-jazz-blues-folk fusion band Joy of Cooking, and was responsible for the band's 1971 hit single, "Brownsville", as well as three albums: Joy of Cooking (1971), Closer to the Ground (1971), and Castles (1972).
