Bassem Youssef is an Egyptian political satirist and television host who was born on March 22, 1974 in Cairo, Egypt. He is best known for hosting the Egyptian political satire show El Bernameg, which has earned him international recognition. In 2013, he was named to Foreign Policy magazine's list of 100 Leading Global Thinkers and TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World list.
