Bennet Omalu, born on September 1, 1968 in Anambra, Nigeria, is a forensic and neuropathologist whose autopsy of Mike Webster in 2002 changed the professional football landscape. Through his analysis of Webster's brain, Omalu discovered a condition he named Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), which is caused by repeated head trauma and has been found in many deceased NFL players.
